Sadio Mane first goalscorer, Chelsea and BTTS no, Stade de Reims to win - 27/1 with Betfred

It isn’t a proper Sunday without some sporting action taking place and boy have we been treated this weekend. For many, Sundays are a day for rest, but for us sporting fans, it is a day jam-packed full of action, drama and excitement.

In fact, we would go as far in saying that it is our highlight of the week. This Sunday 17th in particular is a big one for us football fans. We have been treated to a double whammy with a Super Sunday, plus some crucial action taking place across Europe too.

Where there is sporting action, there are betting opportunities. So, we’ve built up a little three fold that will hopefully give you a timely boost before the weekend officially finishes.

Sadio Mane First Goalscorer – 3/1

Kicking off the early Premier League fixture on Sunday is a tale of two teams who could not be further apart. Relegation scrappers Fulham host high-flying Liverpool at 2:15pm and inevitably, the reds are the hot favourites for the fixture. Both clubs need all the points they can get from here until the end of the season, but for very different reasons.

The Cottagers could step out onto the field sixteen points off 17th place, if results go against them on Saturday. Many fans and pundits are already writing Fulham off this season, with there being just reason to do so. Scott Parker will try to keep the spirits uplifted, but he and his side face the daunting task of coming up against one of the best teams in Europe. Liverpool are unbeaten in eleven fixtures and have been firing on all fronts.

At the forefront of their recent success has been Sadio Mane, who has scored ten goals in his last ten games. The Senegalese forward is currently in the hottest form of his life and he will relish facing a team that have conceded fifteen goals in just six games. Most notably too, Fulham have looked very weak down the flanks, with both Callum Chambers and Denis Odoi frequently becoming exposed down the right. The next man to directly lineup against them? Main man Mane.

Liverpool hold very low value heading into the game, so we’ve picked out Mane as the first goalscorer at a generous 3/1 with Betfred. In the midst of Mohammed Salah’s strange barren run in-front of goal, the man on the left has picked up in his place. We are fully predicting the reds to prevail in West London, by a healthy scoreline too.

Chelsea and BTTS No - 9/4

Drawing blanks has been the storyline between Chelsea and Everton during their last two meetings. The 0-0 meeting at Stamford Bridge last November was certainly a drab affair, during a time when Chelsea were finding goals hard to come by. Maurizio Sarri’s system has been a bit of a slow burner at times, but they are still in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

They have responded well to their Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City though, winning three on the bounce before their 1-1 draw to Wolves at home. This form has seen them made favourites at Goodison Park, especially with the Toffees becoming a bit stuck for momentum themselves. They blew a 2-0 lead away at St. James’ Park and the pressure is slowly creeping up on Marco Silva.

This isn’t a fixture that the Portuguese manager will necessarily relish either, as Everton haven’t beaten a top six side all season long. They often found themselves caught between a rock and a hard place, as their fans maintain such high expectations every week, but this pressure often gets to the players. Chelsea have a larger incentive to win this weekend, as they will want to capitalise on their game in hand over Manchester United.

Over the last seven times that Chelsea and Everton have faced each other, there has only been one occasion where both teams have scored. We fancy the Pensioners to nick this game and leave Merseyside with all three points and a clean sheet.

Stade de Reims To Win – 6/5

Moving onto the French continent now, we have Stade de Reims taking on Nantes. Sitting in fifth place, Reims have been the surprise package of French football this season and find themselves in contention for a Europa League spot.

David Guion has got his team playing with a resilient side to their play, boasting an impressive defensive record in the league. In fact, the only two clubs to have conceded less than Reims are the two at the top end of the table – Lille and PSG. Put this into perspective that they are playing a side who have scored just 31 league goals all season, their price at 6/5 can be regarded as good value.

Nantes have been up and down this season, as although they aren’t in any real danger of going down, consistency has been an issue. Last time out away from home, the Canaries drew a blank to bottom of the league Guingamp, a side that have conceded over fifty goals in Ligue 1 this campaign. Reims hold more of a threat going forward in this fixture, and we’re tipping them to prevail at a generous 6/5.
